Design-led: selected work

Every project begins as a design problem, not a construction quote: restraint and material honesty over decoration, resolved in full BIM. Under a single design-and-build contract, the studio that designs it also builds it, so the design reaches handover intact. Selected work includes five floors of offices completed for Conectys in Lisbon, a 470 m² pharmaceutical head office completed in Carnaxide and two completed buildings on the Nexzen pharmaceutical campus in Pegões.

Who handles design and construction?
WALLNUT: architecture, engineering and construction under one contract and one team. At Conectys in Lisbon, that was the case for every commission, from concept to handover.

Headquarters refurbishment: what experience do you have?
In Carnaxide we delivered architecture, engineering and construction for a 470 m² headquarters with seven meeting rooms.

Can you work in an occupied building?
Yes. At Conectys we worked on five floors of an occupied building.

What about permitting?
Municipal permitting is part of our scope: design, engineering, permitting and construction under one contract. In Carnaxide, architecture, fire safety and HVAC were coordinated before construction began.

Integrated corporate refurbishment: do you do the whole building?
We deliver the fit-out and, when the project calls for it, the refurbishment; the scope is written into the contract. At Conectys it was the fit-out: the shell, structure and central services stayed with the landlord.
