The project
A single-storey house of 273,70 m² with a pool, in Azóia, Sesimbra. Architecture and every engineering discipline are ours, and so is the construction, under one contract. The building licence has been issued and construction has not started.
What we were responsible for
A house that stays on one level because the ground gives no reason to leave it: 273,70 m² of construction, of which 229,70 m² is dwelling and 44,00 m² the garage, under a façade 3,45 m high. The plan is a long white body with a second one turned across it, and the pool runs along the south face so the living room opens onto water and the field beyond it. Openings are small where the house meets the approach and full-height where it meets the pool — the house does the two jobs. The licence covers the house, the pool and the boundary wall as one application, and the garage is an open timber-roofed bay that belongs to the same application rather than an afterthought bolted on later.
Who built it
WALLNUT is responsible for both the design and the construction, under a single contract. The work has not started on site yet.
