WALLNUT designs, licenses and builds in the Algarve under a single contract, run by one Lisbon-based team of 22 architects and engineers, so one accountable party owns the project from the first sketch to handover.
Building in the Algarve
From the Golden Triangle (Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo) to the western Algarve (Lagos, Carvoeiro) and the east (Tavira), the rules are local: edificability and setbacks vary plot by plot, licensing runs through each município (Loulé, Lagos, Faro and others), and the protected coastline (POOC) adds real constraints near the water. We handle the full path — architecture, all engineering specialties, submissions and follow-up to approval — and survey existing villas with reality capture before any renovation.
Remote ownership, real control
Most Algarve owners are not on site. Every project runs on a full BIM model, and you approve decisions on immersive visualizations rather than promises. One English-speaking contact owns the answer to every question, from the architecture to the construction site, so progress does not depend on your flights. That single-contract, run-it-remotely model is the whole point — it is what a fragmented local team cannot give you.
Why one contract
In the traditional model you hire an architect, tender the work to a builder, and spend the build refereeing between the two — from another country. A design-build contract leaves one responsible party: the team that drew it builds it. The budget is owned by the people who set it, the calendar survives contact with licensing, and accountability does not fragment when something goes wrong.
